2025 Study Grants

Study Grants for Pacific, South-East Asian and Latin American students

• Up to $3,000 (120 credits or pro-rata) for Pacific, South-East Asia or Latin American students.
• Applies to all programmes*, up to 120 credits (based on an academic year).
• Online offshore study grants include a 20% deduction to standard fees.

Students from the following nations are eligible:

Pacific Nations 
Micronesia (Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, Republic of Palau, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia (including Yap, Chuuk, Pohnpei, Kosrae), Republic of Nauru, Republic of Kiribati). Melanesia (Fiji, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, New Caledonia, Indonesia (Papua and West Papua provinces only), Timor-Leste). Polynesia (Samoa, Kingdom of Tonga, Tuvalu, American Samoa, French Polynesia, Easter Island, Pitcairn Islands, Rotuma, Wallis and Futuna). 

South-East Asia Nations
Brunei, Cambodia, East Timor, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam. 

Latin America Nations
Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Martinique, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Saint Barthelemy, Saint Martin, Uruguay, Venezuela. 

*Excludes Engineering and Nursing programmes. 

Dunedin Campus Study Grants 

• $7,000 discount per 120 credits in 2025. 
• Check the Terms and Conditions below to see if you are eligible.

This Study Grant applies to the following programmes:  

Art 
Bachelor of Visual Arts, Master of Fine Arts; Master of Visual Arts 

Design 
Bachelor of Design (Communication); Bachelor of Design (Fashion); Bachelor of Design (Product); Graduate Diploma in Design (Specialty); Master of Design Enterprise; Master of Design

Food Design 
Bachelor of Culinary Arts 

Sport 
Bachelor of Applied Science; Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Science; Master of Applied Science 

*International students need to study both of these programmes to get a visa. 

China Study Grant 

• All Chinese and Taiwanese students are eligible.
• $3,000 for 120 credits of year one study at all programme levels*.
• Pro-rate based on the credits of each programme (for example, $1,500 for New Zealand Certificate in English Language (60 credits), and $1,500 for 60 credits of another programme in the same year, or $3,000 for year one of a degree up to 60 credits).

*Excludes Engineering and Nursing programmes.

India Science and Technology Study Grant

• All Indian students are eligible.
• Two students will receive $10,000 towards the first year (120 credits) of the following programmes:
  • Bachelor of Engineering Technology
  • Bachelor of Information Technology
  • Bachelor of Construction

Study Abroad Grant 

• All students coming from a partner institution are eligible.
• Up to a maximum of 30% deduction of standard fees.
